With the cannabinoid known as Cannabidiol (CBD), there are currently 3 different ways to manufacture and sell hemp-based CBD products:
- CBD isolate products
- Full-Spectrum CBD products
- Broad Spectrum CBD products
In the form of CBD isolate, the product promises that CBD, in its pure and natural form, is indeed effective. For instance, when manufactured as a tincture product, CBD isolate has been mixed with propylene glycol and vegetable glycerin (PG/VG) or coconut oil (MCT). In fact, most CBD tinctures initially used PG/VG more so in the past, but now seem to be transitioning more into using MCT.
Full Spectrum CBD
On the other hand, a Full Spectrum recipe is a far more complex process. Full Spectrum CBD is produced based on the promise of the synergistic entourage effect by including other non-psychoactive cannabinoids along with less than 0.3% THC and oftentimes by also adding some of the plant’s origin of aromas known as Terpenes.
Terpenes is an extremely popular word throughout the Cannabis and Hemp industries, but to any ordinary consumers unfamiliar with the scientific terminology, the word may seem rather unrecognizable and quite odd.
In fact, terpenes was once a term largely undefinable by most consumers, yet with the rise of Cannabusiness, entrepreneurs and industry professionals have transformed this science-based lingo into business-savvy vocabulary.
Nevertheless, Terpenes are a type of organic compound produced by plants. They give each strain of cannabis their unique smell and flavor. Terpenes work together with THC, CBD and other cannabinoids to achieve specific health benefits. Once again, this combination is referred to as the entourage effect.
Broad Spectrum CBD
Broad Spectrum CBD products are somewhat similar to Full Spectrum CBD products, the primary difference being that there is 0% THC. Therefore, Broad Spectrum uses the same methodology in terms of achieving the synergistic reaction when combining several rich phytocannabinoids and terpenes.
When using Full-Spectrum or Broad Spectrum CBD products, it is difficult to ignore the results discovered by scientific research related to the entourage effect. At the same time, the science behind the answer is not as simple as we might think. This is because each individual’s physical body is different and each health issue has its own unique symptoms and challenges,
Therefore, the CBD product option that is best for each person, is undoubtedly specific to each person’s own body and own personal needs. Perhaps you may not feel any relief from a particular CBD product you used one time before — this does not necessarily mean the next product you try will produce the exact results.
